Chichester Open Studios Art Trail, 2024
Looking ahead to this year's Chichester Open Studios, this is still my favourite quote from a studio visitor! “Oh my god, look at your floor!”.
Last year I was interviewed by Phil Hewitt of the Chichester Observer and I spoke about something that I am so passionate about: education and the arts and encouraging children to be creative — without limitations.
My great inspiration is Sir Ken Robinson (1950-2020), the author, speaker and international advisor on education in the arts: He definitely tried to change educational systems around the world, really trying to make breakthroughs in the education systems. And there are other people now trying desperately to do the same. Really it is just a question of keeping trying to get the message out there.
Even little people like me can make a difference just by saying ‘Come and create’
By taking away the concept of right or wrong in art, we are opening up the creative space to everyone and all that it can do for our happiness and wellbeing. That should be wholeheartedly encouraged.
