The painting was from a trip to Loch na Cuilce , which you can only get to by boat. Very very remote . The more remote the more beautiful I find. The time of year was February, this is a great time to go as the north west Gulf Stream creates incredible light for the mountains and sea, I became obsessed with light in this particular trip. When you see a beam of light catch the mountains and sea after a storm you feel so connected with your surroundings, it’s like the beauty of the landsca Is giving you a gift. It is this that I was trying to convey in this painting , even though the moment was temporary, it’s now caught forever in my painting.
