In this part of Scotland you really do feel like you have arrived somewhere completely different. The scale of the mountains are overpowering, but in a good way, like your safe from anywhere. Sutherland was like no other part of Scotland i have ever seen.

I will never forget the sheer scale of the mountains against the lochs. This painting is from a walk in Sutherland, nowhere in particular but I am trying to express the sense of drama in this one, in an unusually abstract way. Something a bit different maybe.
